I also purchased a domain recently and I am having a lot of problems with Google on it. I figured that I should notify G that I bought the domain and am the new owner, and to let them know that their penalty against my site is uncalled for. Did I waste my time? Yes, probably. Will any person ever read my request? No, probably not. But what else can I do? Like you said, this is the only way to request justice online.
